What we're about

A spa built around the pause, not the upsell.

Stillwater is nine treatment rooms, a hydrothermal suite and a lounge with very good tea, tucked into a renovated brick warehouse on Roseneath Road. Our therapists average eleven years in practice. Nobody works from a script, and nobody is going to try to sell you a serum on your way out.

  • Your hour is actually your hour

A sixty-minute massage is sixty minutes of hands on you. Intake, changing and tea happen on either side of it.

  • Quiet is the amenity

Phones stay in the lockers. The lounge and hallways are a whisper zone, and we mean it kindly but seriously.

  • Pressure, scent and music are yours to set

Tell your therapist what you want at the start, and change your mind halfway through. That is not rude. That is the job.

Hydrothermal suite

The water circuit

Heat, then cold, then rest — repeated two or three times. It is the oldest spa idea there is, and still the best forty-five minutes you can give a tired body. Included with any treatment over sixty minutes, or book it on its own.

Infrared sauna

Dry cedar cabin, low and slow. Easier on the head than a traditional sauna and it gets deeper into the muscle.

140°F · 15 min

Eucalyptus steam

Tiled steam room dosed with eucalyptus on the hour. Sinuses first, shoulders second.

115°F · 10 min

Mineral soaking tub

Magnesium and Dead Sea salts, kept just past body temperature. Two tubs, screened from each other.

102°F · 15 min

Cold plunge

Sixty seconds is plenty. Go straight to the lounge afterward and let the warmth come back on its own.

52°F · 1 min
Steam rising off the mineral soaking tub in the hydrothermal suite

Day pass, $45. Three hours in the hydrothermal suite and relaxation lounge, robe, slippers and tea included. Add the circuit to any treatment for $25.

The Stillwater Circle

Membership, for people who should come more often.

Most of our guests mean to come every month and manage it twice a year. The Circle fixes that: a treatment credit lands on the first, it rolls over if life happens, and the water circuit is yours whenever you want it.

No contract term. Pause for up to three months at a time, cancel with thirty days' notice.

The Circle

Monthly membership

$109/ month
  • One 60-minute massage or facial each month — rolls over up to three credits
  • Member pricing: 15% off every additional treatment and all retail
  • Unlimited water circuit, any day we're open
  • Four guest passes a year, and members' pricing when you bring someone
  • Priority booking window: members see Saturday openings first

The building

What comes with every visit

No resort fee, no day-use charge. Arrive early and stay late — the lounge is the point.

The relaxation lounge at Stillwater: heated loungers, low light and tea service

Relaxation lounge

Heated loungers, low light, no screens and no talking. Stay as long as your appointment day allows.

Herbal tea service

Blended for us by a shop in Church Hill. Ginger-lemongrass before, chamomile-lavender after.

Robes & slippers

Waffle-weave robes, fresh slippers to keep, and a gown for treatments where you'd rather have one.

Private lockers

Code-lock lockers in gender-neutral changing suites, with a separate women's suite if you prefer.

Showers & vanity

Rainfall showers stocked with the same products we use in the rooms. Dryers, tools and a real mirror.

Quiet policy

Phones off past the lounge doors. If you need to take a call, the front vestibule is yours.

Your first visit

Nobody should feel unsure walking in.

If it's your first time at a spa at all, read this once and then forget about it. We will walk you through everything at the door.

Arrive 15 minutes early

Thirty if you want the water circuit first. Late arrivals shorten the treatment rather than the next guest's, so give yourself the cushion.

Fill out the intake form

A short health history: injuries, surgeries, pregnancy, allergies, medications, pressure preferences. We email it the day before so you can do it at home.

What to wear

You'll change into a robe and slippers. For massage and body treatments, undress to your own comfort — you're draped the entire time and only the area being worked on is uncovered. Disposable briefs are available.

Phones stay in the locker

The lounge, hallways and treatment wing are a quiet zone. No photos past the front desk, so everyone can be in a robe in peace.

Speak up during the treatment

Too hot, too cold, too much pressure, too little, music too loud, don't touch my feet — all of it is welcome, any time. Silence is also completely fine.

Gratuity

Never required and never added automatically. If you'd like to, 18–20% is customary, and the front desk can add it to your card or give you an envelope. Members and gift card holders tip the same way.

Book a treatment

Tell us when, and what your body needs.

Send a request and the front desk confirms by phone or text, usually within a couple of hours during opening times. Nothing is charged until you're here.

  • Same-week openings are common midweek; Saturdays book two to three weeks out.
  • Booking for two, or for a group? Say so in the notes and we'll match the rooms.
  • Pregnant, recovering from surgery, or managing a condition? Tell us here, not at the door.

Prefer a human? The desk is open every day.

Have you been to Stillwater before?

We'll confirm by phone or text. Nothing is charged now — a card is only taken to hold packages and groups.

Good to know

  • Late arrivalsYour treatment ends at its scheduled time so the next guest isn't pushed back. Arriving 20 minutes late usually means we have to reschedule.

  • Health conditionsSome conditions — recent surgery, blood clots, uncontrolled blood pressure, active infection, certain cancer treatments — need written clearance from your physician before we can work on you. Tell us when you book and we'll handle it quietly.

  • RespectOur therapists are licensed healthcare professionals. Any inappropriate request ends the session immediately and is charged in full.

Questions

Frequently asked

How early should I arrive?

Fifteen minutes before your treatment, or thirty if you want time in the water circuit or a shower first. That window covers check-in, changing and a cup of tea, so your service starts on time and runs its full length.

What do I wear, and what comes off?

You change into a robe and slippers. For massage and body treatments most people undress fully or to underwear — you're draped in sheets the whole time and only the area being worked is uncovered. Disposable briefs are available, and for facials, nails, brows and waxing you stay largely dressed.

Is tipping expected?

It's appreciated but never required, and we don't add it to your bill automatically. If you'd like to tip, 18–20% is customary. The front desk can add it to your card or hand you an envelope for cash.

Can I book for two people at once?

Yes. We have two couples suites for side-by-side treatments, and we can also run two guests in separate rooms at the same time if you'd rather have your own space. Mention it in the booking notes and we'll match the schedules.

Do you take walk-ins?

Sometimes — the water circuit and quick services like brows or an express facial often have same-day room. Massage and facials are usually booked, so call first. We also keep a cancellation list and can text you when something opens.

Do gift cards expire?

No. Stillwater gift cards don't expire and the balance carries over between visits, so a $150 card can be two shorter services if that suits better. If it's lost, we can look it up by the purchaser's name or phone number.

Which treatments are safe during pregnancy?

Prenatal massage from the second trimester on, most facials, manicures and pedicures, and gentle body polishes. We skip the sauna, steam room, cold plunge, soaking tub, hot stone, detox wraps and most active peels. Tell us how far along you are when you book so we can plan the right service.

Where do I park?

There's a free lot for guests behind the building off Roseneath Road, plus free street parking on Norfolk Street. If the lot is full during a group booking, the deck at the corner is $2 for two hours and we'll validate.
